Fatherly Advice for Your Daughter’s Wedding Day

Daughter's Wedding Day

Nothing compares to the feeling of watching our children grow up.

You still remember the exact moment your daughter was placed into your arms at the hospital. Until that moment, you weren’t sure you were ready to be a father to a baby girl, but she showed you immediately it’s all you could ever want.

From teaching her how to share her toys to showing her what to do at a 4-way stop, you’ve loved sharing memories together. Soon enough, you’re about to create another special memory because it’s almost her wedding day.

You’re not prepared for it, but we are here to help. Below is a guide of fatherly advice for your big girl’s special day.

Be Vulnerable and Honest

As the father of the bride, it’s important for you to be emotionally vulnerable with your daughter. Her wedding isn’t the time to play tough guy. That’s your baby girl.

Before the wedding, find time to talk with her. Remind her how proud you are of her, and tell her how excited you are to see her creating her own future. Let her know how you feel.

It’s also best to find some time to talk with whoever they’re marrying. Welcome them into the family, and offer your love and support.

Enjoy Every Second of the Day

The wedding will be over in a flash. All of the planning, stress, and tears will be forgotten as family and friends gather together in the name of love. Soak all of it up.

Because it’s your daughter’s wedding, make sure to give her some space as you chat with some friends. Let her mingle, say hello to everyone, and enjoy her new forever partner in life.

It’ll all be a rush so take some pauses every now and then to stand back and enjoy. Take pictures with your phone, and hold her extra tight during your dance.

Be Available to Settle Any Storms

It’s no secret you’re the first one to have your daughter’s back. Offer the same support on her wedding day.

Whether it’s a disgruntled family member trying to take her spotlight or problems with some of the catering contracts, be there to settle the storms. She’ll have so much going on for her that she may not be able to handle everything herself.

It just might take you putting on the ‘dad voice’ to deal with some things on the wedding day.

The Best Fatherly Advice for Your Little Girl’s Wedding Day

Your daughter’s wedding day is just around the corner, and you’re just not quite sure what to do. You haven’t been able to sleep for weeks. Luckily for you, there’s some quick advice above.

Make sure to be vulnerable and honest. Tell her how much you love her, and support her throughout the entire wedding. Make sure to soak it all up and enjoy every second.
