But no one is quite sure why you get so much nose hair. It grows at a rate of 0.35mm a day, and as you get older, you just grow more and more.

Though scientists suspect it has something to do with testosterone and hormonal changes, they aren’t sure why it grows so fast and so furiously.

Fortunately, there are several ways you can keep your nose hair under control.

Don’t Get Rid of All Your Nose Hair

When you’re trimming your nose hair, the goal shouldn’t be to get rid of all of it. Remember, your body needs nose hair to filter debris out of the air your breathe.

All you have to do is trim the hair back so it’s not protruding out of your nose. That way you can look good and keep that protective shield.

How to Get Rid of Nose Hair

There are a lot of ways you can get rid of nose hair. The right one really comes down to the time you want to spend trimming your nose hairs and your personal preference.

Most of these options are cheap and don’t take a lot of time out of your day.

Here’s a quick list of ways you can keep your nose hair under control.

1. Nose Hair Scissors

These scissors aren’t like other scissors, and they can’t just be swapped out for cuticle or nail scissors. If you decide you want to save some money and use other scissors, you risk cutting the inside of your nose open with the sharp points.

How are nose hair scissors different?

They have rounded tips, so they won’t stab or cut you as you’re working. And they don’t cost any more than $15 dollars.

The best part about these scissors is you only have to buy them one time. Once you have them, that’s all you need. They give you complete control over what you’re trimming, so you can cut away as little or as much as you want.

Using scissors may mean you spend a bit of extra time in front of the mirror every week.

2. Manual Nose Hair Trimmer

If you don’t want to take the time cutting each nose hair individually, a manual nose hair trimmer is a faster option.

But it may take a bit of practice.

These types of trimmers use a circular clipper to chop your nose hairs. All you have to do is stick the circular clippers in your nostril and turn the bottom. This spins the clipper, causing your nose hairs to get stuck between the blades and get snipped off.

Make sure you know how to use it before you start.

You have to press the trimmer against the inside of your nostril or else it won’t cut the hair properly. You should also never move the trimmer as you’re cutting.

If you do this, hairs will get caught in the trimmer and be yanked out of your nose when you move the trimmer.

But it’s usually easy and pain-free. Hold it in one spot as you trim then stop, move it over, and trim again.

3. Electric Nose Hair Trimmer

Electric trimmers are easier and faster than manual trimmers, and they hardly ever yank hairs out or pinch your like manual trimmers can sometimes do.

All you have to do is turn the trimmer on, put it in your nostril, and it does all the trimming work for you. It takes a few seconds for each nostril and you’re done.

A lot of these trimmers come with other features too.

That means you can buy one trimmer and have functions that trim your nose hairs, ear hairs, eyebrows, mustache, neck, sideburns, and beard. If you’re worried about getting your money’s worth, this is definitely the tool for you.

4. Waxing

Waxing your nose hair comes with some advantages and disadvantages.

For starters, it takes a long time for your hair to grow back. You can usually get away with a single waxing job and be good for the rest of the month.

It hurts a lot more than any other trimming option on this list.

To wax your nose hair, you dib a stick in some wax and poke it up your nose. When it sets, you grab the stick and yank it back out, along with all your hair. It’s quick, but it doesn’t feel very good.

The job will also cost you about $15 every time. Compared to the other nose hair trimming choices, that’s pretty expensive. You can wax your nose hair yourself to save some money, but even this will have you spending more than, say, a pair of nose hair scissors.

Besides, if you don’t know what you’re doing, waxing your own nose hair probably isn’t the best idea.

How Often Should I Trim My Nose Hair?

This really depends on how much nose hair you have and how fast it grows. Unless you go with waxing, trimming your nose hair once a weak should be sufficient.
